Late Thursday night in Athens, early in the evening in Vermont, Leftos and JaoSming get together seemingly just to play some Trials Evolution Gold Edition and chat. One hour in, just as Jon is finishing every single track in the single player “campaign”, they realise they are talking about some interesting stuff. So, Leftos hits record and an impromptu podcast happens.

• JaoSming shows off his mad skills in Trials, but admits he can screw up pretty much everything else.
• They go through what stuff your favorite duo has done together since that Episode #6 when they were last together on the NLSC Podcast.
• JaoSming makes some bold claims about NBA 2K13, and they both go over the ways they enjoy the game.

• Leftos reminisces about how his NBA Stats Tracker tool started, how far it’s gone, and how it can help both real-life coaches and NBA 2K gamers enhance their experience and gain an advantage over their opponents.
• They discuss how Brad Pitt stole a Cavaliers’ stats guy in Moneyball. Wait, what?
• They go back to how their strong friendship began. Spoiler: It was yet another tool that brought them together.
• The troubles of decoding the roster are brought up; both have immense respect for Vlad and what he does every year.
• JaoSming tries to persaude everyone he’s still a good husband and father.
• An interesting question is brought up: When doing an Association, do you treat your players as real people, or do you ignore them completely and do your thing knowing its just a videogame? What’s more engaging when you introduce your Association to an audience?
• NBA Inside 09 is brought up, which apparently was a terrible basketball game, but had a good storyline, something that’s missing from all other basketbal games.
• Suddenly, magic happens, as they decide they’re going to start the biggest (and most interesting, possibly) project they’ve ever undertaken, and change the way basketball games are played. We’re not kidding.

Another Friday is upon us, so it’s time for a new edition of The Friday Five! This week on the NLSC Podcast, we react to a quiet trade deadline, talk about our recent gaming experiences and against our better judgement, offer up more predictions. 2K Sports Community Manager Ronnie 2K has thrown out an NBA 2K14 related teaser on his Twitter, mentioning a meeting that took place with Nike and Gatorade during the past week regarding their involvement with the game. This follows a recent Tweet by Nice Kicks, which also mentioned a meeting with 2K Sports regarding NBA 2K14. The preview season is still a few months away so we’re unlikely to find out any more details in the immediate future, but feel free to speculate in the comments below, as well as take the discussion to the Forum.

Ronnie also mentioned that 2K were not provided with art for the Golden State Warriors’ new alternate jerseys with sleeves ahead of NBA 2K13 being shipped and as such, cannot build a sleeved jersey into the game with the official updates. However, if you’re playing on PC, you can get the new sleeved alternate (along with a couple of fictional jerseys based on it) courtesy of this jersey pack by Tha King. Please note that this pack is for the PC version only, it cannot be used with any of the console versions.

24 hours after the post trade deadline update, 2K Sports have pushed through another official roster update for NBA 2K13. The new rosters correct a couple of mistakes present in the previous update, trading Charles Jenkins and Jeremy Tyler to the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks respectively, while adding Kenyon Martin to the New York Knicks. Other mistakes still remain however and there were no ratings edits in the latest rosters.

The latest update will come through automatically as long as your PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Wii U is connected to the Internet. As always, PC users may update their game manually using our offline update pack, which contains the latest roster and online data files.

Once again, the weekend brings about a big batch of new and updated files for NBA 2K13 from our talented modding community. To begin with, JaoSming and Leftos both have new releases for you, specifically a basic post trade deadline current roster update (for use as a base for your own updates) and the latest version of the NBA 2K13 Editor respectively.

There are also 18 other new or updated files today including ESPN scoreboard updates (for both 16:9 and 16:10/4:3 monitors), a pack of basketballs, a retro jersey pack for the Atlanta Hawks, 2013 Celebrity Game jerseys, Los Angeles Lakers jerseys which include the Dr Jerry Buss tribute patch, Larvae’s latest portrait pack and more retro All-Star courts and jerseys from retroman. A new official roster update for NBA 2K13 has been released, containing lineups that have been updated through February 22nd 2013, including the trade deadline deals. As always, the new rosters will come through automatically as long as your PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Wii U is connected to the Internet. If you’re playing on PC and would like to update your game manually, you can make use of our offline update pack.

Although the latest trades have been accounted for, a couple of players are still on the wrong teams and Kenyon Martin has not been added to the New York Knicks’ roster. 12 other players are also still missing and there are a couple of other mistakes with the lineups. If you’re feeling a little nostalgic, then today’s file additions for NBA 2K13 are definitely for you. retroman has released several retro All-Star courts and jerseys, converted from his great updates for NBA 2K12. After our failures predicting All-Star Weekend 2013, we try our luck with trade deadline predictions, catch up on some NBA 2K13 news and chat about all sorts of balls. Want to know what else we talk about in Episode #18 of the NLSC Podcast featuring Leftos, Ben and myself? Here’s an overview:
