Questions

When was NBA 2K17 released?

NBA 2K17 was released on September 20th 2016 in North America, with pre-order customers receiving the game on September 16th as part of the "Early Tip-Off Weekend" promotion.

Which platforms is NBA 2K17 available on?

NBA 2K17 is available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with mobile versions of iOS and Android.

Why are the official patches for NBA 2K17 so large on consoles compared to PC?

Microsoft and Sony require each official patch to contain the same fixes as the previous update, in addition to the new ones that are being pushed through. This results in much larger downloads compared to the PC version, as Steam does not enforce the same restrictions. As yet, there's been no confirmation as to why the patches vary in size between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, since the contents of the updates on both platforms are identical.

Is there a physical version of NBA 2K17 PC?

There is no DVD or Blu-ray version of NBA 2K17 for PC. Any physical copies of the PC version are merely cards with a Steam key printed on them.

Why is the PC version of NBA 2K17 digital-only?

Releasing the PC version of NBA 2K17 via digital download ensures that it is more cost-effective to produce, and streamlines in-game transactions by tying the game to a single distribution platform (Steam).

Why can't we distribute roster files the old fashioned way?

Roster files and other saves are encrypted, and bound to user accounts. This is a by-product of NBA 2K17 being tied to the Steam platform. Custom rosters must be distributed using the game's in-built sharing facilities.
