Virtual Currency (usually abbreviated to VC) is a form of in-game currency that can be earned in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of NBA 2K13, as well as purchased with real money through the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network Store. It is used to boost player attributes in MyCAREER, as well as purchase content such as gear and animations.

NBA 2K14 and NBA 2K15 continue to utilise Virtual Currency.

Behind the scenes[edit]

Virtual Currency and its abbreviation, VC, is an obvious nod to the studio that develops the NBA 2K series, Visual Concepts.
